Everybody Black is an organization built on the fact that
the power lies within the people.
With signs of Broadway slowly coming back to life, the time is now for theatre workers from all facets of the theatre industry and theatre supporters to unite to create an antiracist Broadway.
We have heard “conversations” and “statements” but have seen no concrete changes. Black theatre workers are still in the dark on how Broadway will keep theatre workers safe.
It is the duty of the employer to provide a safe work environment for all it’s employees. Broadway and the American Theatre as a whole, has not ensured a safe work environment for Black workers.
Broadway will be back! But will Broadway be ready to keep Black theatre workers, and in turn all theatre workers of color, safe? Let’s make sure. We can make this happen together.
